Norb and Dag get humiliated on a TV show, so the beavers take their revenge on Bill Licking.
Episode Summary[]
Production Information[]
Trivia[]
- This episode reveals that Dag talks in his sleep and that Norb speaks (and understands) Spanish. However, there have been three prior instances in which he has spoken Spanish before this episode.
- In "Born to Be Beavers," he says "El pollo grande! Hacienda!"
- In "Long in the Teeth," he says "Slap me cinco digitos my man."
- In "Bummer of Love," he says "Mundo excilente."
- The t-shirt and umbrella Dag were holding up has the series' logo on them.
- Daggett's eyes with hypnotic swirls are similar to the ones in "Sang 'Em High".
- Debut of Bill Licking (who was first heard in "Born to Be Beavers") and El Grapadura.
- Norb's train conductor hat from "Gift Hoarse" returns in this episode, this time being worn by Dag.
- This episode reuses footage from "Long in the Teeth.
Errors[]
- After watching a documentary about the majestic ling cod with his brother, Norb, Dag says he can't wait "till Bill does a show on beavers". Bill Licking actually did made one about them--more specifically on the Beaver family in an episode of the TV show Wild Life Shenanigans. ("Born to Be Beavers")
Allusions[]
- Nigel Marven/Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom - Bill Licking and his show Nobility of the Wild are probably references to the British wildlife presenter, television producer, author, and ornithologist as well as the wildlife and nature TV show.
- "La Cucaracha" - The instrumental version of the "traditional Spanish folk corrido" was played in the background.
- The natural predator snake scene is likely based on the Kaa encounters of The Jungle Book movies. Like Kaa, the snake hypnotizes Dag by making him stare into its swirling eyes and dance with its swaying body. It wraps him up fully in its long tail, pins him to the floor and squeezes him in its coils, twisting him and awakening him from his trance. It swallows him whole and lies with Dag a big lump in his stomach. Norb puts the snake's tail into the eye of a sewing needle, pulls its whole body through and makes the snake spit out his brother.
